Our family met Father Alex Busuttil, a Catholic priest from Malta, the very first time they visited the Alto Cayma Mission in 2017. Vivek, with a background in Emergeny medicine, and Krisztina, with a background in Latin American politics and Economic development, quickly discovered that they could provide long lasting assistance to Alto Cayma's most vulnerable population beyond providing Ibuprofen for pain.
Women and children in this part of Arequipa are largely neglected and poor. These women and their children need to make money on their own in order to support themselves and their families but, How to make money when you are poor, unskilled, uneducated and alone?

We have created Pro Cayma because we believe that investing in microbusiness enterprises can truly end the cycle of poverty for women and children in this part of the world. Owning and managing a small business can empower women and pass on their knowledge, skills and resources to their children. Home businesses in Alto Cayma can provide economic independence for the poor while serving the needs and demands of their community.

But we cannot do this alone!
